Counterfeit Wedding Dress Woes

Posted on November 15th, 2011 by admin

A Mori Lee wedding gown is a one-of-a-kind original, made with a careful eye toward quality and overall aesthetic. Not only are there counterfeit wedding dresses being sold online, but copyrighted images from the Mori Lee site are being used without our consent to falsely imply that the dresses purchased from these sites would look, feel, or be of similar quality to our originals. This is not true. To help protect brides, we have compiled a list of currently identified sites that have been noted as selling a counterfeit wedding dress of one or more of Mori Lee’s designs.

Please view the list here:

Don’t be tempted by the promises of these sites. We understand that the economic times are turning many brides to carefully look at their options, but be warned that these sites are not trustworthy. Good Morning America even did a segment specifically on the options available to brides to save money. They ordered from a sampling of online sites (one wedding gown and two bridesmaid dresses) and found all to be lacking, sometimes horrifically so (an unfinished wedding gown with pins holding it together).

Selecting a Stylish Prom Dress: Golden Globe Inspiration

Posted on January 21st, 2011 by admin

As you were watching the Hollywood Foreign Press Association awarding Golden Globes in Los Angeles on January 16, 2011, it may have crossed your mind that “those are some great dresses the actresses are wearing!” We think so, too.

Wouldn’t it be great to look that amazing at your prom? That’s why we watched the Golden Globes for the hottest trends to share so you could create some similar looks on your big night.

This year’s Golden Globes saw a lot of interesting new trends. There were floral dresses, lots of fitted bodices and skirts, luscious colors, beautiful cool neutrals and one standout red dress that knocked our socks off. Mori Lee can help you make any of these trends your own.

For instance, although Leighton Meester and Michelle Williams each wore floral dresses, they interpreted the trend differently. Meester’s dress was very covered up with long gathered sleeves; Williams’ dress was styled like a child’s sundress and very “light” in feel. Both looked beautiful.

You can see our interpretation of this floral trend in Paparazzi Style 8701 :, which has floral tulle with beading and three dimensional flowers in Lavender/Purple, White/Cerise or Black/Purple.

Many of the most gorgeous Golden Globe dresses were strapless, fitted through the upper torso and all the way to the mid-thigh or knee, like Paparazzi Style 8702 It’s form-fitting on the top with ruffles and flare on the bottom.

There was also a lot of emphasis on cool neutrals, worn by two beautiful actresses: Scarlett Johansson in a blush colored dress and Anne Hathaway in a bronze design. We think Flaunt Style 8804 is a bronze beaded halter charmeuse elegant enough for Scarlett. Flaunt Style 8810 is a beaded strapped dress with ruching in the front that would look great for cooler skin tones.

But probably the standout dress of the evening was a daring number worn by January Jones. It was a dress designed with lengths of fringe “strategically placed”. Flaunt Style 8808 "> is a red charmeuse dress with beading, keyhole neckline, and side cutouts that is every bit as “standout amazing” as the Mad Men star’s dress.]
